YoFresh Ribbon Cutting Was Held August 17th
Locally-based meal subscription and delivery service puts down valley roots after moving from common wealth kitchen incubator
Youngstown, OH: YoFresh, the Canfield-based meal subscription and delivery service, will celebrate the grand opening of its new location with a ribbon-cutting event on Monday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. An open house celebration will follow the same day from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will be open to the general public. Owners will be onsite to show the space and discuss meal prep and delivery program options.
Originally started in December 2018, YoFresh moved to its Canfield location from the Youngstown Common Wealth Kitchen Incubator at the end of 2019, but had to delay its grand opening due to COVID-19. Over the past five months, with consumers staying home more and shopping less, demand for meal prep and meal delivery services have skyrocketed.
“Our business journey began as a means to help my wife eat healthy while maintaining her busy schedule,” says Chef Don Ritenour. “Within just a couple of years, that focus led us to where we are today. We make healthier eating a realistic option while at the same time helping to fight hunger right here in the Valley.”
The YoFresh motto is “Eat good. Feel good. Do good.” And, while working to build their business, owners Don and Caroline Ritenour have also worked to build up the local community. Through their partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, YoFresh donates 12 meals for every 10 meals ordered. Since January 2019, they have donated more than 23,160 meals back to the Valley.
YoFresh also partners with Inspiring Minds Youngstown to conduct virtual cooking classes and supply a meal per week for the summer program.
“Caroline and I want our business to make an impact,” says Don. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without others lifting us up along the way, and we want to leave that type of legacy behind for our company.”
YoFresh has multiple ordering options—meal prep packages, mid-week hot and ready meals, corporate ordering and kids cooking kits—and offers both delivery and pick-up. For more information, call 330-422-3663 or email [email protected].
YoFresh is the premier prepared meal delivery service in the Mahoning Valley. Each meal is made fresh and ready to heat. The company was built upon the foundation of three core values—caring, empowering and making an impact—along with the goal of changing lives one meal at a time. Every meal comes complete with nutritional information and is prepackaged in containers that can be stored and reheated at the customer’s convenience.
